Georgia driver kills bicyclist, flees scene of accident

Bicyclists, like pedestrians, are exposed to serious and sometimes fatal injuries when they are involved in collisions with motor vehicles. Such accidents invoke the same assessments of liability as those applied in other motor vehicle accidents. Each party must be sure to apply the appropriate level of care in their actions to avoid any liability as a result.

A fatal accident recently occurred in Georgia involving a bicycle and a car. The bicyclist was travelling on a highway and was struck from behind by the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene of the accident and continued travelling on the highway after colliding with the bicyclist. The bicyclist died as a result of their injuries.

But, unfortunately, with an increase in trucks on the road there is also a greater chance that there will be a truck accident.

Georgia driver changes lanes improperly and strikes pedestrian

Pedestrians are a constant presence on the road, and one that drivers must be aware of. Drivers have special responsibilities when in the presence of pedestrians, and they must apply the appropriate level of care. Since pedestrians do not have the safety devices and level of protection that motor vehicles do, they are often injured more severely and drivers can face more significant liability.

A woman was recently arrested for her actions in a Georgia car crash that occurred late last year. The woman was driving her car on a highway when she struck a pedestrian who was walking alongside the road. The pedestrian was a 12-year-old girl who died at the scene. The death of a parent, spouse or child due to the improper actions of another is a tremendous emotional and personal loss. Unfortunately, such a loss also typically carries with it significant financial costs as well. For this reason, families of victims often pursue a wrongful death action to recover any damages suffered as a result. The damage award in such cases can be hard to determine, which is especially true when the victim is very old or very young.

Truck drivers must therefore be extremely careful in their actions to avoid the possibility of liability on their part, as well as there employer in certain cased, if they cause an accident.

Georgia driver in accident while passing in no-passing zone

Drivers owe a responsibility to each other to be careful in their actions. It is bad enough when a driver acts negligently and injures another person. It is even worse when a driver is reckless in their actions and displays a lack of care for the safety of others. Such activity increases the danger of injury for others on the roadway and violates the duty owed by all drivers.

A Georgia car crash recently occurred that resulted in the death of one person, and injuries to two others. The accident occurred when a driver passed another vehicle in a no passing zone, sped around a curve and entered the opposite lane. The car collided with a pickup travelling in the opposite direction, setting the car on fire. A state trooper then collided with the car upon arriving at the scene of the accident, resulting in minor injuries to the officer. Pedestrians are especially vulnerable to serious injuries and even death when they are involved in accidents with motor vehicles due to their lack of safety devices. This may be even more prevalent when the pedestrian is a child. Since children sometimes fail to exercise proper safety around roadways, it is incumbent on drivers to be aware of their presence in an area and be careful in their driving.

Georgia driver kills two, injures four while eluding police

Due to the constant danger of accidents, it is important that all drivers are careful in their actions to ensure the safety of others on the roadway where possible. There are many actions that display a failure to apply such care, one of which is leading police on a high-speed chase to avoid apprehension. This act typically involves high speeds and dangerous maneuvers that heighten the risk of injury to others on the road that are not involved in the chase.

Two people were killed and four others injured in a recent Georgia car crash. The accident occurred when an SUV collided with a car containing six people. The driver of the SUV was eluding police after they discovered cocaine in his hotel room. Police lost track of his whereabouts, but discovered where he was when they learned about the accident. Due to the dangers associated with such actions and the willful lack of care evidenced by them, drunk drivers may be liable for not only pecuniary damages, but punitive damages as well.

A Georgia man is expected to plead guilty to charges stemming from a fatal accident that occurred last year while he was driving under the influence.
